Arc Health is seeking a Family Medicine physician who is interested in a Chief Medical Officer and Primary Care role in the beautiful Sierra Nevada foothills of California. The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) will oversee the clinical operations of our Primary Care Clinic, Same-Day Walk-In Clinic, and Behavioral Health Clinic. The CMO is responsible for providing high-quality medical care to patients, supervising advanced practice providers, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards. We seek a compassionate and experienced physician dedicated to serving the healthcare needs of our underserved community.

Essential Duties

  • Provide primary care services, seeing 6-8 patients per day.
  • Review and approve provider notes for Nurse Practitioners (NPs) and Physician Assistants (PAs) to ensure accuracy and adherence to clinic protocols.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop patient treatment plans.
  • Monitor the quality of patient care and outcomes, implementing strategies to improve care.
  • Provide leadership and foster a positive work environment for clinical staff.
  • Ensure compliance with Indian Health Service (IHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), and other governing bodies' regulations.
  • Participate in professional development to stay updated on medical advancements.
  • Collaborate with clinic administration to implement strategic initiatives for improved care and operational efficiency.
  • Represent the clinic in meetings with community stakeholders and tribal leaders.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Clinic Administrator or CEO.

Education and Skills

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school.
  • Board certification in Family Medicine or a relevant specialty.
  • Active, unrestricted medical license in California.
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in primary care, preferably in a community health setting.
  • Experience supervising advanced practice providers (NPs, PAs) preferred.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations, particularly in tribal and FQHC settings.
  • Commitment to culturally competent care for diverse patient populations.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
