FAQs

How is NativeArc different from Arc Health?

While both companies share similar mission and values, NativeArc is a separate company that is 51% owned by Native American Healthcare Solutions and 49% owned by Arc Health. This uniquely qualifies NativeArc for staffing opportunities that give preference or are exclusively set aside for Native American businesses.

What was the “Buy Indian Act”?

The Buy Indian Act is a law designed to provide economic opportunities for Native American entrepreneurs and business owners. It enables the federal government to prioritize awarding certain contracts and projects exclusively to companies that are authentically owned and operated by Native Americans. By setting aside these contracts that only Native enterprises can compete for, the Act levels the playing field, increasing the ability of Native-owned businesses to secure federal contracts. Its core purpose is to offer contracting opportunities to these businesses as a means of supporting economic development within Native American communities.

What percentage of IHS contracts go to Native American owned companies?

Over 60% of IHS funding is allocated through self-determination contracts or self-governance compacts with tribes. This allows tribes to exercise greater self-determination over healthcare services and spending for their communities, rather than having the IHS solely administer those funds.

What types of positions are available through NativeArc?

Native Arc offers a variety of positions, including opportunities for Family and Internal Medicine physicians, family and adult nurse practitioners (NPs), physician assistants (PAs), certified nurse midwives (CNMs), urgent care clinicians, hospitalists, and Emergency Medicine clinicians. The majority of these positions are in outpatient or primary care settings, focusing on providing comprehensive and continuous care to patients. Additionally, Native Arc has roles available in urgent care centers and hospitals, where clinicians can address immediate health concerns and provide critical care services. This diverse range of opportunities allows healthcare professionals to find positions that align with their expertise and career goals.
