Invitation to Apply: Advanced Practice Provider Roles in Tok and Galena, Alaska
Are you a skilled healthcare professional ready for an Alaskan adventure? We are seeking two Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) to join our team, working on-site in Tok or Galena every other month for extended assignments. In these roles, you’ll deliver high-quality healthcare to patients, collaborating closely with physicians, fellow APPs, and healthcare staff in a unique, community-oriented setting.
Position Highlights:
- Monday - Friday schedule
- Up to 18 patients per day
- EHR: Cerner
- Support from experienced RNs and MAs
- Galena team includes 1 MD and 1 PA; Tok team includes 3 APPs
- Shared call responsibilities
- Internet available, though limited in reliability

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments, diagnoses, and treatment for patients of all ages.
- Work closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and healthcare staff to achieve positive clinical outcomes.
- Lead and support continuous improvement efforts and assist support staff in exceptional patient care.
- Travel to village clinics as needed and provide telehealth services when appropriate.
- Engage patients in their health and wellness decisions through education and active involvement.
Qualifications:
- Eligibility for credentialing and privileging as a Nurse Practitioner at the facility
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Nurse Practitioner
- Required certifications: ACLS, PALS, and ATLS
- Current Alaska license and DEA
- Strong communication skills and ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-focused environment
- Willingness to travel, including small aircraft, and work in varying conditions, including extreme weather
