We are seeking skilled and passionate Clinical Optometrists to join our team and play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality eye care to the underserved communities of the Navajo Nation. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive optometric care, including eye exams, diagnosis, and treatment for a broad range of ocular conditions.

  • Collaborate with primary care providers and specialists to ensure integrated care for patients.

  • Manage a diverse patient load, including diabetic and geriatric populations, ensuring continuity of care.

  • Participate in quality monitoring programs, such as chart audits, to maintain and improve clinical standards.

  • Contribute to the development of health initiatives that support the overall well-being of the community.

Qualifications We’re Looking For:

  • Doctorate in Optometry from an accredited institution.

  • Active, unrestricted optometry license in the U.S.

  • Extensive experience working in a multidisciplinary setting.

  • Experience working alongside primary care providers in a collaborative environment.

  • Experience in treating both pediatric and geriatric patient populations.

  • Residency training that includes experience in an IHS community or similar settings, such as rural clinics or community health centers.

  • Expertise in managing complex ocular conditions, including diabetic retinopathy and glaucoma.

  • Previous experience in facilities or hospitals with quality monitoring programs, such as chart audits.

  • Ability to manage a high patient load, particularly with diabetic patients and glaucoma cases.

  • Strong clinical expertise in ocular pathology and treatment.
