Arc Health is actively seeking skilled a General Surgeon for night coverage in Shiprock, NM for 5-10 nights per month on an ongoing basis. Facility Overview:

This Service Unit is the largest geographical service unit within the Navajo Area Indian Health Service (NAIHS), serving a diverse population across New Mexico, Arizona, and Utah. The facility encompasses the Northern Navajo Medical Center (NNMC), a 60-bed hospital, and two health centers: Four Corners Regional Health Center and Dzilth-Na-O-Dith-Hle Health Center. The facility provides comprehensive care, including primary care, pediatrics, labor and delivery, intensive care, family practice, urgent care, mental health, dental, and more.

Level IV Trauma Center: The Emergency Department (ED) is certified as a Level IV trauma center and as "Peds Ready" by the New Mexico Emergency Medical Services for Children and the University of New Mexico Child Ready Program, ensuring excellent emergency care for pediatric patients.
Broad Scope of Care: Inpatient and outpatient services include medical-surgical, pediatric care, intensive care, women's health, pharmacy, optometry, dental, radiology, and public health nursing.

Position Details:

Schedule: 5-10 overnight shifts, 4:00 pm to 8:00 am per month
Duration: 3-12 months of coverage, potential to extend
EMR: RPMS
Provide care to adults and children (over 18 months) routine and emergencies
Cross cover with Inpatient General Surgery service and admit new patients into the hospital
Provide call with consults/admissions from the ED, Outpatient clinics, and Inpatient services as well as local referral services
Perform emergency general surgical cases and upper/lower endoscopies as needed

Requirements:

Board eligible or certified by The American Board of Surgery
Completed residency training
ANY Valid state license and DEA
Active ACLS and BLS certifications
Valid state driver’s license
Ability to meet health requirements and pass background checks
Clean NPDP report

Commitment required: Minimum 1 block of 5 call shifts (Weds - Friday 5pm - 7am; Saturday and Sunday 7a-7a). As this is a rotating schedule. You must work every month without exception. You may request 1 black-out week per month; we can schedule you where we need you in the rotation, outside your chosen blackout week.

Overnight 14-hour shifts (5p-7a / Weds. - Friday): $1920 per night, plus call back hours at standard rate.
Weekend 24-hour shift (7a-7a / Sat. and Sun.): $2,880 per shift; 4 hours gratis included; standard call back rate after 4 hours in-house work in the 24 hours

When submitting candidates include at least two references (one must be from current manager), a resume, and completed skills checklist/competency assessment. EXP: 2 years experience current required in an 18 plus bed telemetry/neuro unit required. Must be a team player, flexible and accustomed to fast paced environment. Must have successfully completed at least one 13-week travel assignment. CERTS: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required. BLS and ACLS must be completed through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross. . Traveler must pass the BCA (basic cardiac arrhythmia) testing during first week of assignment. Travelers that do not pass the BCA test will be dismissed. SHIFTS: 12 hour day shift position Shifts may fluctuate to fulfill department staffing needs. On call, weekends and holidays may be required. Will float to med/surg. Will float to ICU to care for tele patients boarding in ICU. Will float to ED to care for admitted inpatients holding for bed or as helping hands. Arc Health is seeking experienced Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants to provide primary care services at our partner facility in Bloomfield, NM . Located in Dzilth-Na-O-Dith-Hle, NM, approximately 30 miles south of Bloomfield, NM, the health center is under the administrative oversight of the Shiprock Service Unit. Established in 1984, DZHC serves the communities of Huerfano, Nageezi, and Counselor Chapters, as well as IHS beneficiaries from the urban towns of Bloomfield, Aztec, and Farmington, NM.

Current Details:

Patient Caseload: Approximately 13-15 patients per day
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Compensation: $70 - $75/hour, based on experience
Travel and Housing: All travel and housing expenses are covered by Arc Health

Requirements:

Board certification required
No history of loss or suspension of licensure in any medical profession
No lapse in practice greater than 6 months prior to assignment
Please disclose any lawsuits or board actions
Minimum commitment of 6 weeks or more
Valid, unrestricted DEA with Schedule II-V authorization
