MD/DO - Physician/Emergency Medicine
Arc Health is seeking a full-time Permanent Emergency Medicine boarded or board-eligible physician (for 6 solo shifts per month) to join an established EM group at a northern NH Critical Access Hospital. Ideal candidates must be:
- Committed to rural, Tribal, and underserved healthcare
- Compassionate, mission-driven social medicine practitioners
- Interested in joining a dynamic and potentially disruptive social healthcare enterprise
- Completed a US residency program
- Not had a lapse in practice > 6 months leading up to assignment
- Perm candidates.
Practice Description
- Provide care for patients of all ages in an ED with 9 beds: 6 private rooms, 1 exam with 2 bays (curtains) for minor surgery, and 1 trauma room.
- Annual volume 8,200 patients (less during COVID-19 pandemic).
- Volume of patients per day ranges from 15 to 40; average 22-23 patients.
- Approximately 16% of patients are admitted, and 2.3% are transferred to a higher level of care. Payer mix over last 3 years has been 33.8% Medicare, 23.1% Medicaid, 37.6% commercial, and 5.5% self-pay/other. Recent age distribution (12/21 to 3/22) was 6.5% birth to age 5, 8.7% age 6-17, 58.2% age 18-64, 15.9% age 65-79, and 10.7% age 80+.
- Facility is preparing to apply for designation as a level 3 trauma center in late 2022/early 2023.
- Solo coverage for 24-hour shifts. No advance practice provider support.
- Assistance from on-duty hospitalist in times of high census or acuity.
Requirements:
- Board Certified in EM
- Background Check with Fingerprinting
- BLS and ACLS
